Gencon 51: A New Virgin! [ARTICLE]
Gencon, the best four days of gaming. My home turf. It feels funny calling it that, when only last year I brought you an article as my experience as a Gencon virgin. That’s one of the magical things about Gencon, the moment you get there, you feel a sense of kinship, of belonging. The air buzzes with geekery and fandom, and you feel home.
Attack of the Ninjas 2018: A Goth’s Epilogue
Attack of the Ninjas is an event presented by horrorcore rap group Twiztid and their independent record label, Majik Ninja Entertainment. This year it consisted of two days’ worth (last year was just one) of live performances from all of the artists on the label, including two different headlining sets from the demented duo themselves. This being my very first large Juggalo-related event, as I have not attended a Gathering, I was very curious what was in store.
Lexington Comic & Toy Convention 2018: Nostalgia at its Finest
The Comic Con: An event held in many different times and places where us nerds can gather and feel cool. It’s also a pretty good place for those of us who are in our thirties and above to suffer some extreme nostalgia, finding comics we used to read as kids, and toys and game systems we used to play. The Lexington Comic & Toy Convention this year embodied it all perferctly.
ScareFest X VIP Party: Through the Eyes of a Con Virgin [EVENT ARTICLE]

Gen Con Virgin: Amara Cosplays takes on Gen Con 50 [EVENT/PHOTO ARTICLE]
Simply put, Gencon was stunning. I never expected the scope of the place. Everywhere I looked, there was something new to discover. I originally hadn’t planned a cosplay for the first day, but that idea was quickly abandoned–which inadvertently led to this shoot and article about exploring Gen Con for their first time.

This past Friday, alternative people from around the Midwest descended on The Bar Complex in Lexington, KY to see some amazing DJ’ing, to hang out with some awesome hosts, and to have their mind’s blown by spectacular light displays. The joy people felt in the club as they got to come out, let their hair down, and move was a joy to behold!
Redrawing Gender Boundaries: How Wonder Woman’s Box Office could help change Hollywood [EDITORIAL/ARTICLE]
Many of our Goth Family know that I fight fiercely for the empowerment of women, not by diminishing men, but by arguing for the simple removal of artificial gender barriers like the glass ceiling and other cultural artifacts from the past. Without these barriers, the best person will (or at least, has a chance to) win out. We now are in a position where we can all help tear down these barriers and I believe it’s our duty to do so!

Exposing Skeletons with Reverend Leviathan: Chats with Courtney Gains [INTERVIEW]
We had the privilege of chatting with Courtney Gains at last year’s Camp ScareFest. You may recognize him from the horror classic Children of the Corn. He’s also appeared in Back to the Future, The ‘Burbs, and The Funhouse Massacre .
