This small gallery is composed of the extraordinary work of photographer, Rian Flynn. As keepers of the flame, within the shadows of darkness lingers an illuminating light. The hermit mysteriously appears to help the lost traveler by illuminating the path so that the wandering seeker may find their way home. As the mystified ghost hunter is peering out around the corridor’s corner, eyes wide shut, an apparition creeps up from behind. Yes indeed, ghosts sometimes do appear in mirrors.
The lyricist hears the call of unseen forces and quickly jots the rhyme and riddle into poetic transcription as a good ghostwriter would do. “Mirror mirror on the wall… the burning flame is standing tall“, takes on new meaning in the esoteric order by carrying the traditional initiate’s motto, “Know Thyself.” While the flickering light casts shadows against the celestial altar wall, the torchbearer’s society transmutes darkness into light.
